| Dear Herford Enthusiasts and All Cattlemen: Due to the sale of the ranch and many long hours of discussion among family members, we have decided to disperse our Hereford herd. We have thoroughly enjoyed the Hereford business for nearly sixty years including 31 production sales. We have been privileged to meet many wonderful people, both individuals and families. We have been honored to have been in the Hereford business and have many fond memories of the breed and those associated with it. As youngsters, starting with show steers, the enjoyment of this great breed continued into adulthood. As we grew into adults, we had the privilege of developing a fine herd of Herford cows, an accomplishment of which we are very proud. We welcome all of you to our total dispersal sale on Saturday, October 18, 2008. This sale will be at the ranch which is approximately 20 miles north of San Antonio, Texas on Hwy 281. The entrance is on the east side of the Highway between FM 1863 and Hwy 46 by the billboard sign with Clyde Johnson and Sons on it. While our cattle are predominately line-one cattle, we have mostly used cattle that we like as opposed to utilizing one particular family of genetics. Our commitment was to breed sound, functional cows that could raise bulls and heifers that would be well received by our customers. As you can see from the pedigrees in this catalog most all of the herd bulls we have used in the last twenty years are from Bill Breeding of B&C Cattle Company in the panhandle of Texas. His bulls provided us with the size, muscle and conformation we were looking for in our cattle. We thank Bill for his friendship, help, and guidance over the years.
